1. Download the driver “beos-8139(50).tar” and
copy it to Personal Edition directory.
2. Double click the file “beos-8139(50).tar” and
it will show as follows:

Please click “Expand”
and it will put the file to /beos/system/add-ons/kernel/drivers/bin and
/beos/system/add-ons/net_server.
3. Enter /Pref/Network/Network Interfaces, it
will show “Realtek 8139 10/100 Ethernet PCI”. Enter the settings:

IP address =
169.254.1.2
Subnet mask
= 255.255.0.0
Gateway = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Choose
“Done”, then choose “Save” (Restart Network).
4. Enter /Application/Terminal :
$netstat
You will see the IP that you assign and other settings.
Ping yourself and other IP. If you can ping successfully,
it means the network card can work normally.
5. If it still can’t
detect the card, please change another slot to try again.
