Serial ports on USB allow further use of existing devices, even when modern computers don't offer serial ports. This proven technology is only limited by the length of USB cabling. The IP-COMi-M solves this problem by using CAT5 cable or your local network to allow for long distance from computer to the serial adapter.
The high speed serial port with the 128 byte FIFO allow high speed communication, even in heavy loaded systems. Unique features reduce the system load. The serial port also allows unusual speed settings like 500.000bps.
The IP-COMi-M not only provides the well known RS232 connection type, it also allows for RS422 or RS485 transmission. These latter modes allow for long serial cables and very high data transmission rates up to 3000kbps.
