Environmental Protection
We commited ourself to help to maintain a safe and clean environment.
Furthermore we also are taking care to ensure that product boxes, packing materials, printing ink and all other materials
used to process and ship our products, to meet the RoHS directive.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive took effect in August, 2004 and the Restriction on Hazardous
Substances (RoHS) start from July, 2006. The two directives are briefly described below:
|

WEEE--requests that electric
and electronic equipment has to be collected and recycled on the end of productslife. Electric and electronic products need
to offer information for their recycling and eventual treatment to new EEEs.
The WEEE directive addresses the problem of safely recycling of electrical and electronic products to protect the natural
environment. The directive establishes maximum recycling targets for all european countries.
|

RoHS--The Restriction on
Hazardous Substances prohibits the use of some poisonable substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These substances
are: lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium and flame retardants such as, Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB), and Polybrominated
Diphenyl Ether (PBDE).
The main concern of manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment is to exclude the use of lead, as the main ingredient in
solderpaste used during the manufacturing process. This requests to increase the solder temperature with about 20°C to achieve
similar electrical characteristica as using lead. Also the use of cadmium, mercury, chromium VI and additional flame blocker,
such as PBB and PBDE, is prohibited.

VSCOM products are committed to fulfill its social responsibility to global environmental preservation
through compliance with the European Union's RoHS directive by July, 2006.
