VScom Products Serial Speed Calculator

This Calculator checks if a particular serial speed is possible on many VScom serial ports. Even if the maximum bitrate a serial port can realize is very high, this does not ensure all lesser rates are physically possible.

Enter the target bitrate for the application in the input field, and click on the button for "Calculate It". For each group of VScom products the result is given as
  a) the best achievable bitrate, and
  b) an 'OK' or 'BAD' result. In the second case the deviation is given in percent.
Up to 3% deviation are consided good for asynchronous data transmission.
Details show internal results, and the formulas used for calculation.

On many systems the calculation will already happen while typing.

If a certain bitrate is possible it does not mean it is ready for proper use. This depends on other properties of the serial interface as well. For example high bitrates with RS232 are very difficult at least or not possible at all.

Formulas used for calculation. The used formula is mentioned in parantheses at the product names.
1. bitrate = F / TCR / Divisor (TCR ∈ {13,16}, Divisor ∈ [1,16383])
2. bitrate = MBase / Divisor (Divisor ∈ [2,131064], special cases {0,1})
3. bitrate = MBase / Divisor (Divisor ∈ [2,524256], special cases {0,1})
4. bitrate = F / TCR / (CPR / 8) / Divisor (TCR ∈ [4,16], CPR ∈ [8,255], Divisor ∈ [1,65535])
5. bitrate = F / 16 / Divisor (Divisor ∈ [1,65535])
6. bitrate = F / PreSc / TCR / (Divisor+Frac/16) (PreSc ∈ {1,4}, Divisor ∈ [1,65535], Frac ∈ [0,15], TCR ∈ {4,8,16})
7. bitrate = F / PreSc / TCR / Divisor (PreSc ∈ {1,4}, Divisor ∈ [1,65535], TCR ∈ {8,16})
